Duct Tape Rings
Materials
  • Duct tape
Directions
  • Estimate the size of your finger and cut a piece of duct tape approximately that sizze
  • Fold the duct tape down so there is no sticky side
  • Take another small piece of duct tape and connect the two ends of your original piece of duct tape together
  • Slip onto your finger and adjust as necessary




Magazine Paper Bowls
Materials
  • Magazine
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape
Directions
  • Fold page in half down the middle
  • Fold both edges in towards the middle crease
  • Fold the new outside edges in to the center again
  • Fold the edges in to the center a final time
  • Finally fold it in half down the center; this is a slat
  • Repeat steps 1-7 to create many slats
  • Tape slats and join them together
  • Start to coil them adding more on as you go
  • Slowly push coils up, creating a bowl
  • Seal it off with glue or tape





Friendship Bracelets
Materials
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Tape
Directions
  • Pick out two different color threads and cut them approximately the same length
  • Knot them together
  • Pick one color, make a four with the string and loop one thread around  and underneath another to form a knot
  • Continue to do this as the color will swirl
  • To use the other color, make a backwards four with the other color color and loop under to make a knot
  • Continue to do this as the color will swirl
  • Continue switching back and forth until you reach your desired length
  • Knot together to complete

Frisbee Paper Plates

Materials 
  • Paper plates
  • Scissors
  • Markers and Crayons
 Directions
  • Take a paper plate
  • Cut our the center
  • Decorate
  • Fly

Magic Paint

Materials
  • 1 Tbs. Baking Soda
  • 2 Tbs. Water
  • 4-6 drops of Food Coloring
  • Paintbrush
  • Paper
Directions
  • Mix water and baking soda together
  • Dip your paintbrush into the baking soda and water mixture 
  • Write your mystery message on the paper
  • Let the message completely dry
  • To reveal the message mix the remaining water and 4-6 drops of food coloring
  • Using a brush, paint the water and food coloring mixture over the message and it will be revealed

Pop up Cards
Materials
  • Paper
  • Markers
  • Crayons
Directions
  • Fold a paper in half
  • On the fold, two lines going in
  • Open up and punch out rectangles
  • You can make multiple ones or just one

Paper Bead Necklaces


Materials
  • Magazine
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • String or Yarn
Directions
  • Tear out a colorful page of a magazine
  • Cut out a long triangle
  • Flip the triangle over
  • Put glue on about an inch of the smaller end
  • Roll the triangle up starting at the large end, making sure the hole is just big enough to fit your string
  • Repeat steps 2-5
  • Cut your string the desired length
  • Insert beads and tie it at the end

Silly Putty

Materials
  • Borax
  • Water
  • Container/Cup
  • Glue
Directions
  • Mix ¼ cup glue with ¼ cup water in a bowl
  • Dissolve 1 tbsp of Borax in 1/8 cup water
  • Combine the two mixtures and as you stir if it becomes too sticky, add more borax
  • Keep stirring until it almost resembles silly putty
  • Knead for 5-10 and you have Silly Putty
  • Store in an airtight container to use again

Stained Glass
Materials
  • Colored Tissue Paper
  • Corn Starch
  • Water
  • Paint brush
Directions
  • Cut colored tissue paper into different shapes and sizes
  • Paint the liquid starch on a clear plastic or glass surface
  • Place the tissue paper pieces on top of the starch covered item while smoothing out any wrinkles and covering all blank spaces



Toothpaste Putty
Materials
  • 1 Tbs. Glue
  • 2 Tbs. Cornstarch
  • ½ Tbs. Water
  • ½ Tbs. Toothpaste
  • 1-2 drops  of Food Coloring, optional
Directions
  • Mix glue, cornstarch, food coloring and toothpaste together in a small bowl
  • Add water and stir until the mixture turns into a clump of putty
  • Toothpaste putty must be used very quickly; it will begin to harden in 25 minutes or less and will be completely dry in 24 hours

Yarn Dolls
Materials
  • Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard
Directions
  • Loop yarn once around cardboard lengthwise
  • Tie a knot at the top to secure it
  • Continue to wrap the yarn around the cardboard
  • Slide a piece of string between the loops and the cardboard
  • Slide the strings off the cardboard
  • Pull out a few loops on each side to form the dolls arms
  • Tie the arms at the wrists and tri the looped yarn ends
  • Cut across the bottom of the body to make a skirt of yarn or cut the threads and form two legs
  • Your doll is complete
